Sorensen signs Stoke extension

Stoke City goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen has signed a two-and-a-half year contract extension at the Brittania Stadium on Tuesday.

The Danish shot-stopper tweeted: Just signed a new contract this morning. Proud to be a Potter for another two and a half years.

The 35-year-old was Tony Pulis first choice-keeper during their successful first season back in the Premier League in 2008-09, but soon found himself constrained to the substitute s bench following Asmir Begovic s emergence into the first team.

Sorensen did play in last season s FA Cup final defeat, having featured throughout the competition.

However, the former Sunderland man has reclaimed the number one jersey after a dip in form from Begovic.
