LA Galaxy forward Landon Donovan has admitted that he could quit United States national team in the near future.

The 30-year-old helped his side make it to the Conference semi-finals by scoring from a penalty spot in the 2-1 win over Vancouver Whitecaps on Friday.

However, while remaining focus on his club career, the highly rated forward admits he is not sure how much longer he can continue playing for the national team.

England midfielder Joe Cole will not take part in Chelsea s pre-season tour of the United States after undergoing minor surgery, the Premier League club confirmed on Thursday.

Cole required the operation to correct a small tear to his meniscus in his knee and is expected back in full training in one month.

Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson will have scans on an ankle injury described by manager Jurgen Klopp as pretty painful .

Robertson was hurt during Sunday s 1-1 friendly draw between the Reds and Athletic Bilbao at Anfield.
